AWSDockerGitLinuxTerraform

Overview

Seccl is seeking a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to enhance their security posture and streamline developer experience. You'll work with AWS, Docker, and Terraform in a remote-first environment within the UK.

Job Description

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in DevSecOps, with a strong focus on security practices and automation — you've successfully implemented secure CI/CD pipelines and have a deep understanding of infrastructure as code. Your expertise in AWS and Docker allows you to build and manage scalable cloud environments, ensuring security is integrated at every stage of the development lifecycle.

You are proficient in Linux and have experience with scripting languages — you understand how to automate processes and improve developer workflows. Your familiarity with Git enables you to manage version control effectively, collaborating seamlessly with engineering teams. You are passionate about security and have a solid grasp of best practices, including vulnerability management and compliance.

You thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy working closely with product engineering squads — you believe that security should be a shared responsibility across teams. Your excellent communication skills help you articulate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders, fostering a culture of security awareness.

Desirable

Experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure as code tools is a plus — you understand how to provision and manage cloud resources efficiently. Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Datadog or Prometheus will help you ensure the reliability and performance of the systems you manage.

What you'll do

As a Senior DevSecOps Engineer at Seccl, you will take ownership of enhancing our security posture and improving developer experience across the organization. You will work closely with product engineering squads to implement secure-by-default tooling and automation that removes friction from the development process. Your role will involve strengthening our CI/CD pipelines, ensuring that security is integrated into every deployment.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish clear guardrails and self-service tooling, making the secure path the easy path for developers. Your hands-on approach will help drive programs that improve platform reliability and uplift engineering practices. You will also be responsible for creating comprehensive documentation that guides teams in following security best practices.

In this role, you will participate in quarterly tribe days and occasional offsites/workshops in locations such as Bath, London, or Edinburgh, fostering team collaboration and knowledge sharing. Your contributions will directly impact Seccl's mission to transform the investment industry by ensuring that our systems are secure and reliable.

What we offer

Seccl offers a remote-first work environment within the UK, allowing you to balance your professional and personal life effectively. You will be part of a fast-growing company that is B-Corp certified, committed to making a positive impact in the investment space. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement — we value diverse perspectives and backgrounds.

Join us in our mission to help more people invest and invest well, while being part of a collaborative and innovative team that is dedicated to driving change in an outdated industry.
