Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 5 years of experience in software development using one or more programming languages. You possess 3 years of experience in testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and at least 1 year of experience in software design and architecture. Your background includes 3 years of experience with speech/audio technologies, reinforcement learning, or specialization in another machine learning field. You are knowledgeable in ML infrastructure, including model deployment, evaluation, optimization, and debugging. Proficiency in coding with Python and C++ is essential for this role.

What you'll do

As a Senior Software Engineer at Google, you will work on critical projects that impact how billions of users connect and interact with information. You will evaluate Speech-to-Text and Text-to-Speech evaluation pipelines, design and launch experiments, and build scorecards for systems through human evaluations and autoraters. Your role will involve triaging customer issues related to model behavior and identifying effective solutions. You will need to understand how the models and surrounding systems operate to effectively assist customers and unblock any challenges they face. You will also have opportunities to switch teams and projects as the business evolves, allowing you to bring fresh ideas from various areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, and artificial intelligence.
