SpaceX is hiring a CNC Machinist for the 2nd shift to set up and operate multi-axis CNC Mills and inspect parts for precision. This role requires 3+ years of experience and familiarity with G-Code and blueprint reading.
You have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate and at least 3 years of experience in the setup, operation, and programming of CNC mills. Your expertise includes understanding basic G-Code and making adjustments to feed and speed as necessary. You are comfortable reading and interpreting blueprints, GD&T, and tolerances, and you possess the ability to use hand inspection tools to check machined features. Your experience includes working with various materials such as Inconel, stainless steel, copper, and titanium, and you are familiar with multiple machine controls including OSP, Fanuc, and Siemens.
As a CNC Machinist at SpaceX, you will set up and operate multi-axis CNC Mills, including up to 5-axis machines. You will inspect parts using hand tools to verify dimensions and complete machining operations based on blueprints, drawings, and verbal instructions. You will work with complex, tight tolerance parts and various materials, ensuring that you meet productivity expectations. Communication with shop leadership will be essential, especially when production is inhibited, and you will continuously provide feedback for process improvements to enhance efficiency.
