You’ve taken ownership of services from design through deployment, and you have a wealth of experience in debugging complex distributed systems issues. Your expertise in Java and Spring is deep — you’ve shipped high-throughput APIs that handle millions of requests, and you have strong opinions on service architecture, dependency injection, and testing strategies. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with developers, designers, and data scientists to create impactful solutions. You are passionate about user experience and understand the importance of delivering features that not only meet client needs but also enhance their overall satisfaction. Desirable

Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure would be a plus, as would familiarity with microservices architecture. If you have worked in a SaaS environment before, that experience will help you understand the nuances of delivering software solutions that meet diverse client needs. What you'll do

In your role as a Senior Backend Engineer at Varicent, you will be instrumental in developing and refining features for the Varicent Incentives platform, a single-page web application designed to empower revenue leaders. You will collaborate with a diverse team of developers, designers, and data scientists to build modern, scalable features that deliver exceptional user experiences. Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing RESTful APIs, optimizing database interactions, and ensuring the overall performance and reliability of the platform. You will also engage in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers while continuously improving your own coding practices. As part of the Incentives Development team, you will contribute to the technical direction of the project, ensuring that the solutions you build align with the company's strategic goals. You will have the opportunity to mentor junior developers, sharing your knowledge and expertise to help them grow in their careers.
