Overview

Markforged is seeking a Material Development Engineer to lead process development and material qualification. You'll be responsible for experimental work and project management in a cutting-edge manufacturing environment. This role requires expertise in advanced materials and engineering principles.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in material science or engineering, with experience in process development and optimization. Your expertise allows you to independently execute experimental work for components and process development, ensuring that all activities comply with relevant laws and internal directives. You are detail-oriented and capable of tracking and reporting on progress to meet agreed targets. Your ability to document work and results is essential, as is your responsibility and authority to stop work when necessary. You understand the importance of occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations in your work.

Desirable

Experience with advanced materials, including metal and composite technologies, is a plus. Familiarity with industrial 3D printing processes and technologies will enhance your ability to contribute effectively to the team. You are a proactive communicator, able to train and support both internal and external machine users, fostering a collaborative environment.

What you'll do

As a Material Development Engineer at Markforged, you will be responsible for leading the development and qualification of materials and consumables used in our innovative manufacturing processes. You will create targets and schedules for activities, technology sprints, and projects, ensuring that all milestones are met efficiently. Your role will involve thorough analysis and reporting of results from associated activities, allowing for continuous improvement in our material development processes.
