Samsara is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join their Data and Analytics team. You'll work on integrated data layers to enable data-driven decisions across the organization. This role requires expertise in data engineering principles and practices.
You have a strong background in data engineering, with experience in building and maintaining data pipelines that support analytics and reporting. You understand the importance of data quality and have a keen eye for detail, ensuring that the data you work with is accurate and reliable. You are comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams, including data scientists and analysts, to understand their data needs and provide the necessary support. You are familiar with various data storage solutions and can choose the right tools for the job based on the requirements of the project. You are proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement in data processes and are always looking for ways to optimize performance. You thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy sharing your knowledge with others, helping to elevate the team's overall capabilities.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP is a plus, as is familiarity with data visualization tools. Knowledge of machine learning concepts can also be beneficial, as it allows you to better support data scientists in their work. You may have experience with specific programming languages or frameworks that are commonly used in data engineering, such as Python or SQL.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing data pipelines that integrate data from various sources into a unified platform. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand their data requirements and ensure that the data is accessible and usable for analysis.
