SpaceX is hiring a Signal and Power Integrity Engineer II for their Starlink project in Redmond, WA. You'll be responsible for signal and power integrity throughout the hardware lifecycle, requiring expertise in electrical engineering principles.
You have a strong background in electrical engineering, with a focus on signal and power integrity. Your experience includes working on complex hardware systems, where you've taken ownership of SI and PI throughout the entire product lifecycle. You understand the intricacies of electrical, mechanical, and thermal analysis, and you are comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal performance of satellite systems.
You possess a solid understanding of PCB layout and design principles, having overseen the layout process in previous roles. Your technical skills include evaluating silicon architecture and package performance, as well as selecting and characterizing stackup materials. You are detail-oriented and have a knack for problem-solving, which allows you to address challenges effectively in high-stakes environments.
Your communication skills enable you to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You thrive in collaborative settings and enjoy mentoring junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and expertise to foster a culture of learning and innovation.
Experience with satellite systems or telecommunications is a plus, as is familiarity with RF engineering principles. You may also have experience with simulation tools and methodologies that enhance your ability to predict and analyze performance outcomes.
As a Signal and Power Integrity Engineer II at SpaceX, you will play a critical role in the development of the Starlink satellite constellation. Your responsibilities will include conducting signal integrity evaluations during the early design phases, ensuring that the silicon architecture meets performance requirements. You will oversee package performance evaluations and contribute to the selection of materials that optimize signal integrity.
You will collaborate closely with mechanical and thermal engineers to assess the impact of design choices on overall system performance. Your expertise will guide the architecture of power distribution networks (PDN) and channel designs, ensuring that all components work harmoniously to deliver reliable connectivity.
Throughout the product lifecycle, you will be involved in PCB layout oversight, providing guidance to ensure that designs meet stringent performance criteria. You will also engage in testing and validation processes, analyzing data to identify areas for improvement and implementing solutions that enhance system reliability.
