Google is seeking a Product Design Engineer to design the next generation of Pixel phones. You'll work with CAD tools like NX and SolidWorks to create innovative mechanical components. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields and experience in product design.
You hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field, or possess equivalent practical experience. You have experience designing mechanical components such as plastic or metal parts, mechanical assemblies, printed circuit boards, or flexes. Your proficiency with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools, particularly NX and SolidWorks, sets you apart. You have a track record of shipping consumer products and are familiar with manufacturing methods used in the industry. You thrive in a collaborative environment, working with cross-functional teams to balance comfort, performance, and aesthetics in your designs.
As a Product Design Engineer at Google, you will be responsible for driving the design, analysis, and prototyping of new concepts for Pixel phones. You will manage varied responsibilities, collaborating with external vendors and internal teams such as Electrical Engineering, Antenna, Industrial Design, and Reliability. Your role will involve identifying the root cause of design, manufacturing, or reliability issues and developing corrective actions. You will ensure that your designs meet functionality, sustainability, reliability, human factors, manufacturability, and aesthetic considerations. You will play a key role in taking individual parts from concept to production, ensuring that the final product aligns with Google's high standards.
