Overview

Google is seeking a Senior Leadership Technical Program Manager for their Next Generation Tools team. You'll lead complex engineering projects and manage a team of Technical Program Managers. This role requires extensive program management experience and strong leadership skills.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 10 years of experience in program management. Your background includes 7 years in leadership roles, with 2 years specifically in people management. You excel in directing a portfolio of technical programs within a dynamic organization and have experience leading the development of global technical capabilities in a matrixed environment. Your ability to communicate effectively across functions and geographies at all levels within Google is a key strength, and you approach ambiguous, global-scale issues with excellent leadership and solution-oriented strategies.

What you'll do

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you will lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects, leveraging your engineering expertise to plan requirements with internal customers and guide projects through their entire lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks, and clearly communicating them to stakeholders. You will be comfortable discussing technical trade-offs in product development with engineers while also explaining analyses and recommendations to executives. In this role, you will manage various Engineering-specific programs and teams, ensuring that tools are secure and that data access is protected. You will coach a team of Technical Program Managers to achieve project goals in the tooling space and contribute to Technical Operations leadership by using your technical knowledge and data-driven insights to anticipate and solve project challenges.
