Your mission

You’ll join our tight-knit, early-stage team, where you’ll solve interesting technical challenges and shape the direction of the product. We’re at a pivotal moment as a company as we scale our existing products and explore new verticals. As an early engineer on the team, you’ll work across the stack and collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to own key product and engineering initiatives.

What you will do

• Collaborate across Product, Design, and Engineering to shape roadmap priorities, define great user experiences, and drive product direction.

• Work full-stack to own features end-to-end - from early exploration and prototyping to implementation, launch, and ongoing iteration.

• Build scalable, high-quality systems while solving complex technical challenges in performance, architecture, and reliability.

• Continuously improve our codebase, infrastructure, and development practices - balancing speed with quality through well-tested code and thoughtful trade-offs.

• Contribute to technical leadership by driving architectural decisions, shaping engineering standards, and helping grow the team through interviewing and improving the hiring process.

• Create the best crypto accounting subledger, with a complex rules engine that automatically categories journal entries.

• Role-specific

  • 5+ years of software development experience as an IC.

  • This is a fullstack position, but we're open to frontend leaning or backend leaning candidates! Let us know which you are in the application form.

  • Have strong CS fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, system design, and distributed systems.

  • Write high-quality code, value software testing, and uphold best practices in engineering, security, and design.

  • Love building great products and delivering user impact; you want to question the "why" of what you're building.

  • Have a startup mindset: you’re resourceful, adaptable, and not afraid of ambiguity.

  • Enjoy learning new tools, technologies, and methodologies to stay at the cutting edge.

  • Able to work collaboratively and effectively in a remote setting, with overlap during our core hours of 9 AM to 12 PM PT.

  • [Bonus] Prior experience building 0 → 1 products and engineering systems.

• You don’t need to know any or all of these, but be willing to learn!

The starting salary for this position is between $175,000 - $210,000 USD. Candidate's location does not impact the posted salary range. The actual compensation offered will be based on a variety of job-related factors including relevant skills, education, and experience. This position also includes equity in CoinTracker and benefits like medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, and PTO.
