Overview

Klaviyo is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Data Exchange group within their Data Infrastructure organization. You'll own the strategy and execution for teams focused on data ingestion and synchronization. This role requires strong leadership and technical expertise in data systems.

Who you are

You have a proven track record of leading engineering teams, with at least 5 years of experience in a managerial role. Your background includes a deep understanding of data infrastructure and the ability to drive strategic initiatives that enhance data flow and integration across platforms. You excel in fostering a collaborative environment where team members can thrive and innovate.

Your technical expertise encompasses data ingestion, synchronization, and pipeline orchestration, allowing you to effectively guide your teams in building robust systems that handle multi-petabyte datasets. You are adept at navigating complex technical challenges and can communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

You value diversity and inclusion in the workplace, understanding that varied perspectives lead to better outcomes. You are committed to mentoring your team members, helping them grow in their careers while achieving the organization's goals. You are comfortable with ambiguity and can adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable

Experience with cloud platforms and data processing frameworks is a plus, as is familiarity with AI/ML applications in data systems. You may have worked with various data storage solutions and have insights into best practices for data management and governance.

What you'll do

As the Senior Engineering Manager for the Data Exchange group, you will lead multiple teams responsible for ingesting data from external systems and synchronizing it with Klaviyo's platform. You will define the strategy and roadmap for data movement, ensuring that data flows seamlessly across operational stores and the data lake. Your leadership will be crucial in orchestrating internal data pipelines that support analytics and core product features.

You will collaborate closely with product managers, data scientists, and other engineering teams to align on priorities and deliver high-impact solutions.
