Job Description

SkyOS, our industry-first universal operating system for flight, provides any airplane or helicopter with a fly-by-wire flight management solution that significantly reduces the complexity of flying. Skyryse One, our first production aircraft powered by SkyOS, was unveiled in 2024 and features the simplest, safest, and most intuitive flight controls in general aviation.

QUALITY MANAGER (QMS) - EL SEGUNDO, CA

As a Quality Manager (QMS), you will support the development of our Fly-By-Wire software by ensuring that our supply chain and production standards are compliant with the necessary FAA regulations. You will act as the main point of contact and administrator of all program specific quality requirements. The ideal candidate will be familiar with ARP4754, ISO9001, AS9100, and FAA regulation auditing. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and maintain the company's AS9100 certified QMS in accordance with regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA regulations (14 CFR Part 21, 39, 43, 145, etc.), working closely with regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead internal and external audits (AS9100, FAA, customer) including audit preparation, execution, responses, and corrective actions by collaborating with cross functional departments
  • Maintain all documentation and records associated with the QMS, ensuring document control 
  • Ensure procedures within procurement are FAA compliant and pass airworthiness inspections
  • Own and maintain the AS9100 Quality Management System
  • Manage supplier quality reviews to ensure the suppliers’ production, quality systems, products, and services meet expectations
  • Support the supply chain team by assisting with sourcing new suppliers
  • Develops and maintains relationships with vendors, suppliers, and other third parties
  • Train and mentor staff on quality system procedures, regulatory updates, and audit readiness.
  • Act as the primary contact during FAA and third-party audits, representing the company with professionalism and accuracy.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of other industry-specific certifications as needed (e.g., ISO 9001, NADCAP).
  • Oversee non-conformance reporting, root cause analysis, and implementation of effective corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and lead continuous improvement initiatives based on quality metrics and customer feedback.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain) to ensure quality standards are understood and met throughout the product lifecycle.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent years of experience
  • 4+ years of experience within Quality Management
  • ISO/AS9100 Auditor certification
  • Experience supporting the FAA certification process
  • 3 + years of experience working within the Aviation industry

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master of Science in Engineering, Quality or other related disciplines
  • 6+ years of experience within Quality Management
  • 5+ years of experience working within the Aviation industry
