Senior Web Developer

Impact in this Role

Fictiv is seeking a Senior Web Developer to lead our web development efforts from our Pune office. This role is responsible for overseeing the Pune-based web development team, executing the technical roadmap, and ensuring the Fictiv website is a high-performing, high-converting, scalable, and user-friendly platform. This leader will drive architectural improvements focused on customizability for non-developer stakeholders and integrate modern practices, including the use of AI to enhance our development cycles.

You will report to the Vice President, Growth Marketing. 

What You’ll Be Doing

Team Leadership and Development

• Oversee, mentor, and manage the day-to-day work of the web development team based in Pune, India
• Establish coding standards, best practices, and development processes to ensure high-quality, maintainable code across the team
• Collaborate with the shared marketing project manager to maintain a clear, prioritized development queue and manage timelines

Website Architecture and Customizability

• Drive and implement improvements to the overall site architecture to enhance customizability and allow non-developer stakeholders (Content, SEO, Marketing) to update content and pages efficiently
• Build, extend, and optimize the marketing website using the WordPress CMS, developing custom modules, page types, and data structures based on project requirements
• Create and manage the website back-end, including database and integrations, particularly with Marketo and Salesforce

Web Performance and Reliability

• Champion site performance, focusing on continuous improvement of Core Web Vitals as monitored by tools like DebugBear
• Monitor and manage site maintenance, including patching WordPress, plugins, PHP, and other CMS components to ensure security and stability
• Utilize Github for version control, collaboration, and managing the deployment pipeline

Technical Execution and Innovation

• Convert designs into component-based HTML, CSS (using frameworks like Tailwind CSS), and JavaScript
• Design, develop, and maintain responsive, modular Marketo email templates to support the lifecycle and demand generation teams, ensuring high rendering quality across major email clients
• Configure goals, triggers, and tracking snippets in our A/B testing tools (VWO) and analytics environments (GA4)
• Research and propose the integration of AI technologies to improve development cycles, efficiency, and code quality

 Desired Traits

• 8+ years of experience building large-scale websites as a developer in a fast-paced environment
• Proven experience overseeing a development team
• Experience working with teams overseas
• Deep expertise in WordPress, including the ability to build custom themes and plugins
• Expert proficiency in front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Node/NPM, and Webpack
• Strong understanding of web architecture design principles and improving site customizability for content owners
• Demonstrated success in improving site performance metrics, Core Web Vitals, and technical SEO best practices
• Working knowledge of version control (specifically Github), and experience with web performance monitoring tools like DebugBear
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, JSON/XML, and integrating with marketing platforms (Marketo, Salesforce)
• An understanding of the application of AI technologies to modern web development and DevOps
