Overview

Amazon is hiring a Senior Support Engineer for the Amazon Leo initiative to enhance global broadband access via satellite technology. You'll leverage your expertise in RF engineering and satellite communications to troubleshoot complex network issues. This role requires strong problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of advanced networking technologies.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in RF engineering and satellite communications, with at least 5 years of experience in network operations. Your technical expertise spans advanced networking technologies, and you possess a deep understanding of BGP peering and DNS. You are adept at troubleshooting complex satellite communication systems and have a proven track record of resolving high-severity incidents. Your problem-solving abilities are complemented by a commitment to continuous learning and regulatory compliance.

You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with development, RF, and operations teams to drive rapid resolution of customer issues. As a subject matter expert, you are comfortable providing in-depth technical guidance to both customers and internal teams. Your analytical skills enable you to perform detailed root cause analysis for customer-impacting events, identifying systemic issues and collaborating on long-term fixes.

Desirable

Experience with satellite-ground network performance and routing anomalies is a plus. Familiarity with regulatory compliance in satellite communications will enhance your candidacy. You are passionate about closing the digital divide and are motivated by the mission of delivering fast, affordable broadband to underserved communities.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the resolution of complex customer cases involving satellite-ground network performance and connectivity degradation. You will act as a subject matter expert for escalated networking issues, providing technical guidance during high-severity incidents. Your responsibilities will include performing detailed root cause analysis for customer-impacting events and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement long-term fixes.

You will design, optimize, and troubleshoot complex satellite communication systems, ensuring performance excellence and regulatory compliance. Your role will involve continuous learning and adaptation to new technologies in the satellite communications space. You will also contribute to the development of best practices and documentation to enhance team efficiency and customer satisfaction.
