Amazon is hiring an Engineering Operations Technician to maintain mission-critical technology infrastructure. You'll work with electrical and mechanical systems to ensure 99.999% uptime. This role requires hands-on troubleshooting skills and knowledge of data center operations.
You are an Engineering Technician with a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems — you thrive in hands-on environments and enjoy troubleshooting complex equipment. Your experience includes working with diesel generators, three-phase electrical systems, and cooling equipment, ensuring that mission-critical facilities operate seamlessly. You understand the importance of maintaining high uptime and are committed to delivering reliable infrastructure support. You are a team player who collaborates effectively with software, hardware, and network engineers, contributing to the overall success of the data center operations. You are eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment, adapting to new technologies and challenges as they arise.
Experience with AWS infrastructure services is a plus, as is familiarity with data center operations and maintenance protocols. You may have certifications or training in electrical or mechanical engineering, which will enhance your ability to troubleshoot and maintain critical systems. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a keen attention to detail will set you apart in this role.
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and operating the data center's mission-critical facilities — your expertise will ensure that systems such as stand-by diesel generators, UPSs, and cooling towers function optimally. You will troubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipment, working closely with a diverse team to address any issues that arise. Your contributions will directly impact the uptime and reliability of the data center, supporting AWS's global infrastructure. You will participate in routine inspections and maintenance tasks, documenting your findings and collaborating with team members to implement improvements. As part of your role, you will also engage in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in data center operations.
