The Last Mile team helps get customer packages from delivery stations to a customer’s doorstep. Amazon has grown its Last Mile delivery efforts helping to speed up customer delivery times and provide new innovations to customers. Working on the front lines of our Last Mile tech team means that you have a tangible impact on our customer’s experience getting their package. We deliver packages (and groceries, Prime Now, 3P, and Restaurant orders) to homes, businesses, Amazon Lockers, and even cars all over the world! This network is powered by hundreds of small businesses and tens of thousands of drivers that leverage Amazon technology to deliver millions of smiles to customers each day.

Each time an Amazon package is delivered, technology is at the scene and behind the scene. Today, Last Mile solutions support Amazon global business initiatives including Amazon Logistics, Amazon Flex, Amazon Lockers, etc., and its scope is expanding every day.

As fullstack SDE, you will have the opportunity to shape the next generation of delivery technology, work process, and customer/driver experience. You will be part of the center of competency for mobile devices, backend systems, and analytics. Must have experience with low-latency, real-time applications in constrained environments. The ideal candidate has experience with fullstack development, including one of the major platforms (Android, iOS) as well as React and web development.

You are expected to articulate and champion the product, vision, and development timeline in a cross-organization, cross-function and cross-geo environment with senior executives, as well as design, R&D, product management, operation, and finance teams. You will leverage your knowledge, experience, and network to deliver technology, solutions, as well as maximizing the long term potential of each individual engineer.

Basic qualifications:
- Experience in Software Development with at least 3 years developing multi-threaded mobile applications as well backend services.
- Experience in either Android or iOS application development. Knowledge of mobile architecture, performance optimization, and security. Advanced mobile UI skills
- Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience

Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in mobile web app development in JavaScript/React
- Experience in embedded software development
- Experience with AWS
- Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs
- Experience in utilizing Mobile design patterns, building mobile frameworks/SDKs, building custom UX widgets and optimizing apps for performance- Experience (non-internship) in professional software development
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
