Job Description

Are you a product maker who loves to innovate, prototype, and iterate? Do you have experience organizing folks and finances behind an ambitious vision? We're seeking an innovative and entrepreneurial Sr Product Manager - Tech to join Emerging Products, a special projects team. In this high-impact role, you will own the invention, design, development, and launch of software and services for new ambitious products. You will guide cross-functional teams in uncovering unmet customer needs, exploring emerging technologies, and rapidly validating promising product concepts & features. You will then partner closely with engineering and design, to bring that vision to life.

Amazon Devices (Lab126) began with the Kindle e-reader, and now invents & develops products like Alexa, Fire tablets, Fire TV, Echo smart speakers, Echo Show smart displays, and the Amazon Astro robot. If you're excited about working in small, nimble teams to create new products and thrive in the ambiguity of breakthrough innovation, we want to talk to you. This role is a good fit for someone who has strong customer focus and product sense, combined with an established track record in consumer software & services.

Key job responsibilities
- Own key aspects of the strategy, definition, and execution of the apps, software, and services for a new device. Own the roadmap & prioritization for your domain, developing a long term strategy of initiatives, epics, and user stories.
- Define and lead rapid experimentation and prototyping to validate product concepts and features. Work closely with design and engineering to turn fuzzy concepts into mockups and architecture diagrams, transform those into functional experiences, validate the experiences, iterate on them, and ship them.
- Own the presentation of your strategy to senior leadership.
- Collaborate on quantitative & qualitative user research programs to drive early product decisions and go-to-market strategy. Regularly talk with customers.
- Become a domain expert through daily use of prototypes, competitive, and complementary products to develop a deep product intuition.
- Research and understand the capabilities and limitations of advanced technologies and their impact on the user experience.
- Collaborate with teams across the entire Amazon Devices & Services organization to bring cross functional features to life.

About the team
We are makers and builders who thrive on creativity, collaboration, and learning. You will work closely with folks across software, applied science, UX design, UX research, and marketing. We are located in San Francisco and work in the office.- 5+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with end to end product delivery
- Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or electrical engineering
- Experience building delightful new consumer products, apps, and services.- Experience working with design, engineering, and UX research to mockup, prototype, and validate your vision.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
