Product Security Engineer

Who you are

With a strong security engineering background, you’re looking for a role that gives you the freedom to increase MongoDB’s resonance with customers by strengthening our core database products. You enjoy collaborating with different teams to innovate and implement pragmatic solutions while putting a strong emphasis on customer experience. You have significant experience in solving hard security engineering problems and are passionate about enhancing product security.

You are a subject matter expert in security, capable of advocating for and leading complex security projects. Your experience allows you to take ownership and define strategy for various aspects of security, including fuzzing, threat modeling, secrets management, and container security. You thrive in a multidisciplinary environment, working closely with software engineers to design and operate systems that protect customer data.

Desirable

Experience with security tools and frameworks, as well as a solid understanding of software architecture and coding patterns that reduce the impact of security issues, will be beneficial. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and can adapt to the evolving security landscape.

What you'll do

In this role, you will take ownership of parts of the security program, driving improvements and advocating for best practices across the organization. You will collaborate with engineering teams to build a developer-driven security program that integrates tightly with engineering artifacts, processes, and tooling. Your responsibilities will include defining and implementing security strategies that enhance the security features offered to customers.

You will work on various security projects, ensuring that security is embedded in the development lifecycle. This includes conducting threat modeling sessions, managing secrets, and implementing fuzzing techniques to identify vulnerabilities. You will also serve as a security subject matter expert for MongoDB’s tech stack and products, providing guidance and support to engineering teams.
