Overview

Cybereason is seeking a Senior Linux Internals Engineer to design and develop Linux kernel-level components for their EDR/XDR technology. You'll work closely with security experts and backend developers, requiring strong expertise in C++ and Linux internals.

Job Description

Who you are

You have over 5 years of professional experience in Linux systems programming, demonstrating a deep understanding of Linux internals, including system calls, modules, and kernel architecture. Your expert-level proficiency in C++ (11/14/17) and modern system-level programming allows you to tackle complex challenges effectively.

You are familiar with debugging and profiling tools such as GDB, perf, ftrace, strace, and auditd, which you use to conduct performance profiling and low-level debugging of kernel-mode code. Your strong grasp of Linux security mechanisms, access control, namespaces, and cgroups enables you to build secure, high-impact software.

You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure robust and secure product delivery. Your experience includes conducting code reviews and mentoring engineers on Linux and C++ best practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

You stay current with developments in the Linux kernel ecosystem and contribute to internal technical strategy, ensuring that your team remains at the forefront of technology. Your passion for building secure software drives you to innovate and improve existing systems continuously.

Desirable

While not mandatory, familiarity with additional programming languages or frameworks can enhance your contributions to the team. You are encouraged to apply even if your experience doesn't align perfectly with every qualification in the job description.

What you'll do

In this role, you will design, develop, and optimize Linux internals and kernel components for endpoint detection and response. You will architect scalable, reliable system-level solutions that integrate with Cybereason's broader detection pipeline, ensuring high performance and security.

You will conduct performance profiling and low-level debugging of kernel-mode code, identifying bottlenecks and optimizing system performance. Collaborating with other security experts, backend developers, and product managers, you will shape the future of Cybereason's Linux sensor, contributing to the overall success of the product.

Your responsibilities will also include conducting code reviews, mentoring junior engineers, and sharing your expertise in Linux and C++ best practices. You will stay informed about the latest developments in the Linux kernel ecosystem, applying this knowledge to enhance the team's technical strategy and product offerings.

What we offer

Cybereason is dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace. We encourage you to apply even if your past experience doesn't align perfectly with every qualification in the job description. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles. We offer a collaborative environment where your contributions will have a significant impact on our technology and the security landscape.

Join us in our mission to protect organizations from cyber threats and make a difference in the world of cybersecurity. We provide competitive compensation and opportunities for professional growth and development within the company.
