Saronic is seeking a Commissioning Master Mariner to oversee the testing and commissioning of their autonomous vessel, Marauder. This role requires extensive maritime operations experience and strong leadership skills.

Who you are

You are a highly experienced maritime professional with a strong background in maritime operations. Your expertise includes conducting end-of-line testing and commissioning of vessels, ensuring safe navigation, and managing onboard crew effectively. You possess exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities, which are essential for addressing challenges that arise during testing and commissioning initiatives. Your leadership skills enable you to supervise teams and collaborate closely with onshore teams to achieve mission objectives. A steadfast commitment to safety and adherence to maritime regulations is a core aspect of your professional ethos.

Desirable

Experience with autonomous vessels or advanced maritime technologies is a plus. Familiarity with regulatory compliance and safety standards in maritime operations will enhance your candidacy. You may also have a background in training and mentoring crew members, contributing to a culture of safety and excellence.

What you'll do

In this pivotal role, you will conduct commissioning tests and builder sea trial testing operations for the Marauder, a mid-sized autonomous surface vessel. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the safe and efficient navigation of the vessel while monitoring its performance during testing phases. You will play a crucial role in planning and executing autonomous vessel operations, contributing significantly to the development of cutting-edge autonomous systems. Collaborating with onshore teams, you will help achieve mission objectives and ensure that all operations adhere to the highest safety standards. You will also be responsible for supervising the onboard crew, managing operational systems, and addressing any issues that arise during testing.
