Sous Chef

Who you are

You have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate and at least 3 years of experience as a sous chef or in culinary management. Your background includes a degree in culinary arts, which enhances your ability to create innovative menus daily. You thrive in high-volume production and catering environments, demonstrating excellent communication skills and a creative spirit that contributes to the culinary experience at SpaceX. You are capable of performing under pressure and are committed to maintaining food quality and safety standards.

What you'll do

As a Sous Chef at SpaceX, you will manage cost controls and expenditures while creating pricing schedules for all meals. You will source high-quality ingredients with a focus on local, sustainable, and organic items, planning and creating all menus with an emphasis on seasonal items and creative choices. Your responsibilities will include purchasing and managing inventory, enforcing food quality, and holding staff meetings to address food safety and quality issues. You will ensure the safety of the physical kitchen and café space, cater company events as needed, and create a pleasant environment for SpaceX employees to meet and share meals. Additionally, you will build a structure to deliver in-house catering and support the company and special events.
