Benchling is seeking a Lead Strategic Sales Manager to drive the commercialization of their R&D Cloud platform in the biotechnology sector. You'll lead a team of account executives and foster relationships with C-level executives. This role requires strong leadership and sales management experience.
You have a proven track record in sales leadership, ideally within the technology or biotechnology sectors — your experience includes managing teams and driving sales strategies that lead to significant revenue growth. You understand the nuances of selling complex solutions and can effectively communicate value to C-level executives. Your leadership style is collaborative, and you thrive on developing talent within your team, ensuring they reach their full potential.
You possess strong analytical skills, allowing you to assess market trends and adjust strategies accordingly — you are comfortable using data to inform decisions and drive performance. Your ability to build and maintain relationships is exceptional, and you are adept at navigating the complexities of the sales process from qualification to close. You are passionate about biotechnology and understand its impact on the future of science and technology.
Experience in the biotechnology or life sciences industry is a plus, as is familiarity with cloud-based solutions. You may have a network of contacts within the industry that can be leveraged to accelerate sales efforts. A background in account management or business development will also be beneficial, as you will be expected to foster relationships with key stakeholders.

You will engage with C-level executives regularly, fostering relationships that lead to long-term partnerships. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the entire sales process, from qualification through to closing deals, ensuring that your team is supported and motivated throughout. You will also collaborate with other departments, such as marketing and product development, to ensure that the sales strategy is aligned with the overall company vision.
