Overview

Google is hiring an Engineering Analyst for the YouTube Trust and Safety team to analyze data and drive insights for improving user safety. You'll work with data analysis, statistical modeling, and project management. This role requires a bachelor's degree and 1 year of relevant experience.

Job Description

Who you are

You hold a Bachelor's degree or have equivalent practical experience, and you have at least 1 year of experience in data analysis — you've identified trends, generated summary statistics, and drawn insights from both quantitative and qualitative data. You have experience managing projects, defining project scope, goals, and deliverables, which has equipped you with the skills to translate analytical insights into actionable business strategies. Your background includes collecting, managing, and synthesizing large data sets from various sources, and you are familiar with statistical modeling and data mining techniques. You have a solid understanding of metrics analysis and experiment design, and you are proactive in creating opportunities for innovation while collaborating with global teams.

Desirable

Experience in automation and working with cross-functional teams is a plus, as is familiarity with anti-abuse systems and processes. You thrive in environments where you can contribute to enhancing user safety and have a keen interest in online content concerns and legal frameworks.

What you'll do

As an Engineering Analyst on YouTube's Trust and Safety team, you will play a crucial role in analyzing data to reduce network badness on the platform. You will perform fraud and spam investigations using various data sources, identifying product vulnerabilities and driving anti-abuse experiments. Your work will involve collaborating with engineers and stakeholders to improve workflows through process enhancements and automation. You will be responsible for generating insights that inform strategies for making YouTube a safer space for users and content creators alike. This role may require you to be on-call during weekends on a rotational basis, and you should be prepared to handle graphic or controversial content during team escalations.

What we offer

Joining Google means being part of a team that is dedicated to making a positive impact on the digital landscape. You will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where your contributions directly influence user safety on one of the world's largest platforms. Google offers competitive compensation and benefits, along with a culture that values innovation and collaboration. You will be part of a diverse team that encourages you to grow and develop your skills while making a difference in the online community.
