Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the business, providing timely guidance to relevant teams. 4. Collaborate with other teams such as Legal, Policy and Ops to assess tax implications of new business initiatives. 5. Support global and regional tax planning efforts, ensuring alignment with Uber’s overall tax strategy while managing local risks. 6. Drive process improvements and automation initiatives. **What You'll Need** 1. **Strong technical tax expertise** with 6+ years of experience in international and/or regional corporate tax, preferably within a multinational environment or Big 4 firm. 2. **Proven experience managing direct and indirect tax matters** across multiple EMEA jurisdictions, including tax controversy and advisory. 3. **Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills**, with the ability to act as a trusted advisor and collaborate effectively across finance, legal, and operations teams. **Preferred Qualifications** 1. **Deep expertise in European tax legislation**, particularly in Germany and Spain, with hands-on experience navigating complex tax environments in these jurisdictions. 2. **A proactive, strategic mindset** with a track record of identifying tax planning opportunities and driving process improvements. 3. **Experience working in a fast-paced, tech or platform-based business**, with the agility to adapt to constant change and cross-functional dynamics. 4. **Strong project management skills**, including the ability to lead audits, manage multiple stakeholders, and drive initiatives to completion with minimal oversight. Uber's mission is to reimagine the way the world moves for the better. Here, bold ideas create real-world impact, challenges drive growth, and speed fuelds progress. What moves us, moves the world - let’s move it forward, together. Offices continue to be central to collaboration and Uber's cultural identity. Unless formally approved to work fully remotely, Uber expects employees to spend at least half of their work time in their assigned office.
