Amazon is seeking a Senior Test Automation Engineer to enhance automation and release processes for mission-critical applications. You'll work closely with engineering teams to improve overall release quality and reliability. This role requires hands-on experience in CI/CD and automation development.
You have 5+ years of experience in software development and testing, particularly in supporting mission-critical applications. Your background includes a strong focus on automation, stability, and release processes, which you have honed through hands-on engagement and troubleshooting. You are adept at identifying common issues and driving solutions that enhance overall release quality and reliability. Your experience includes working closely with engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of software solutions.
You possess a deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines and have a proven track record of owning and maintaining these processes. You are skilled in diagnosing and resolving pipeline failures, whether they are related to build, test, infrastructure, or dependency issues. Your ability to reduce flaky tests and nondeterministic failures is a testament to your commitment to quality and efficiency in software releases.
Your technical expertise extends to automation development, where you have successfully implemented solutions that improve pipeline speed and reliability. You understand the importance of maintaining a healthy pipeline and are proactive in monitoring its health, stability, and performance. You thrive in environments that require operational reliability and are comfortable participating in on-call support rotations to ensure release quality.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is a plus, as is familiarity with various testing frameworks and tools. In this role, you will take ownership of the daily build, test, and release pipelines, ensuring they operate smoothly and efficiently. You will monitor pipeline health and performance, diagnosing and resolving any issues that arise. Your responsibilities will include improving the reliability of the pipeline by reducing flaky tests and enhancing the overall signal-to-noise ratio.
You will collaborate closely with engineering teams to identify common issues and drive solutions that enhance automation and stability across multiple systems. Your hands-on engagement will be crucial in troubleshooting and developing automation solutions that streamline release processes. You will also manage release processes, ensuring that they are executed seamlessly and efficiently.
Your work will directly impact the ability of the Leo team to deliver high-quality, reliable releases. You will be responsible for maintaining the health of the release pipeline and ensuring that all releases meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. You will also participate in an on-call support rotation, providing critical support to maintain release quality.
