Mozilla is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to enhance Firefox development workflows and improve integration and automation processes. You'll work with technologies like JavaScript and Python in a remote role based in France.
You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong background in improving development workflows and CI/CD processes. Your expertise in JavaScript and Python allows you to contribute effectively to the team, and you are comfortable working with distributed teams across different time zones. You have a passion for mentoring others and are eager to learn from more senior colleagues.
You understand the importance of automation in software development and have experience implementing solutions that reduce testing and debugging time. Your collaborative spirit makes you a great fit for a team that values open-source contributions and a mission-driven approach to technology.
Experience with Docker and Git is a plus, as these tools are integral to our development processes. Familiarity with Firefox or other open-source projects would be beneficial, as would any experience in enhancing developer productivity through innovative solutions.
In this role, you will focus on improving Firefox development workflows, enabling developers to spend less time on testing and debugging. You will collaborate with a geographically-distributed team to identify pain points in the current processes and implement solutions that enhance efficiency. Your contributions will directly impact the productivity of Firefox developers, allowing them to deliver high-quality features to users.
You will also mentor junior team members, sharing your knowledge and experience to help them grow in their roles. This mentorship will not only support their development but also strengthen the overall team dynamic. You will participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of our development practices.
Your role will involve working closely with product managers and other stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into actionable improvements in our workflows. You will be expected to stay updated on industry best practices and bring innovative ideas to the table, ensuring that Mozilla remains at the forefront of technology.
Mozilla offers a competitive salary range of €53,000—€77,000 EUR, along with a flexible remote work environment. You will be part of a mission-driven organization that prioritizes making the internet better for people. Our culture encourages collaboration, creativity, and continuous learning, providing you with opportunities to grow your skills and advance your career.
We believe in the power of open-source software and the impact it can have on the world. By joining Mozilla, you will be contributing to projects that reach millions of users globally, making a real difference in how people experience the internet.
