SpaceX is hiring a Pipe Welder for their night shift at Starbase, TX. You'll be responsible for completing welding assignments and fabricating metal components. This role requires 2+ years of experience in welding.
You have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate and at least 2 years of experience in welding. You are capable of completing welding assignments and procedures for the construction and repair of structural stands safely and professionally. You possess the ability to analyze engineering drawings and specifications to plan welding operations effectively. You are trained to visually inspect your own welds according to the standards set by the American Welding Society (AWS) and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).
As a Pipe Welder at SpaceX, you will be responsible for cutting, trimming, or scarfing metal objects and fitting and fabricating metal components to the required dimensions for building and assembling test site structural forms. You will utilize hand welding and flame-cutting equipment to weld together metal components and parts to assemble structural forms. Under the supervision of a lead welder, you will analyze engineering drawings and specifications to plan your welding operations, especially when procedural information is unavailable. You will also be expected to make continuous efforts to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes.
