Astranis is seeking a Senior Guidance, Navigation & Controls - Estimation Engineer to develop and implement algorithms for satellite navigation and control. You'll work with C, C++, and Python to ensure robust performance across various programs.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in guidance, navigation, and control systems, with at least 5 years of experience in developing algorithms for satellite applications. Your expertise in state estimation and orbit determination is complemented by your proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, and Python — you understand the intricacies of flight software implementation and high-fidelity simulation. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with hardware and software teams to validate and verify system performance. Your analytical skills enable you to tackle complex problems, ensuring precise orbit and attitude knowledge for satellite operations.

Desirable

Experience with satellite systems and a solid understanding of U.S. Government program requirements would be advantageous. Familiarity with advanced simulation tools and methodologies will set you apart, as will any experience in working with commercial satellite communications.

What you'll do

As a Senior Guidance, Navigation & Controls - Estimation Engineer at Astranis, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and testing algorithms that enable precise orbit and attitude knowledge for our satellites. Your role will emphasize state estimation and guidance algorithm development, ensuring robust performance across both commercial and U.S. Government programs. You will lead efforts in algorithm development, working closely with cross-functional teams to integrate your solutions into flight software.
