Astranis is seeking a Senior Guidance, Navigation & Controls - Estimation Engineer to develop and implement algorithms for satellite navigation and control. You'll work with C, C++, and Python to ensure robust performance across various programs.
You have a strong background in guidance, navigation, and control systems, with at least 5 years of experience in developing algorithms for satellite applications. Your expertise in state estimation and orbit determination is complemented by your proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, and Python — you understand the intricacies of flight software implementation and high-fidelity simulation. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with hardware and software teams to validate and verify system performance. Your analytical skills enable you to tackle complex problems, ensuring precise orbit and attitude knowledge for satellite operations.
Experience with satellite systems and a solid understanding of U.S. Government program requirements would be advantageous. Familiarity with advanced simulation tools and methodologies will set you apart, as will any experience in working with commercial satellite communications.
