Overview

SpaceX is hiring a Spaceport Engineer for the Starbase Development team to design and build complex engineering projects. You'll work with MEP systems and collaborate with elite engineers to enable orbital launch capabilities. This position is based in Starbase, Texas.

Who you are

You have a strong background in engineering, particularly in mechanical and electrical systems, with experience in design and construction management. You understand the complexities of MEP systems and have a proven track record of leading projects from conception to completion. Your ability to collaborate with cross-departmental teams allows you to define requirements and derive detailed design specifications effectively. You are detail-oriented and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards throughout the project lifecycle. You possess excellent problem-solving skills, enabling you to expedite the design process and resolve conflicts during construction. Your experience includes writing and managing construction contracts with subcontractors across multiple disciplines, ensuring successful project close-out.

What you'll do

As a Spaceport Engineer, you will lead the design and coordination of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems for various projects at SpaceX's Starbase. You will partner with construction project managers and engineers to define project requirements and develop detailed design drawings and specifications. Your role will involve managing construction activities related to MEP systems, ensuring that all work complies with project requirements and industry standards. You will utilize your engineering knowledge to expedite the design process and address any conflicts that arise during construction. Additionally, you will be responsible for writing and managing contracts with subcontractors, overseeing project control tasks such as scheduling, budgeting, and cost control to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
