Overview

Twitch is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to architect and develop the IGDB.com website and its supporting data products. You'll work with Ruby on Rails to improve discovery for millions of Twitch viewers. This role requires 6+ years of experience in software engineering.

Job Description

Who you are

You have over 6 years of relevant work experience as a software engineer, with at least 3 years focused on architecting applications or web services at scale. Your proficiency with Ruby on Rails web applications is complemented by a strong understanding of database management and optimization. You thrive in collaborative environments, eager to mentor junior peers and share your expertise to foster their professional growth. You are passionate about establishing and championing engineering best practices within your team and across the organization. Your experience includes designing, building, and maintaining performant, reliable web services and applications that can handle significant traffic and user engagement.

Desirable

Experience with cloud services, particularly AWS, would be a plus, as would familiarity with agile methodologies and modern development practices. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and are excited about the opportunity to contribute to a platform that empowers live communities.

What you'll do

As a Senior Software Engineer on the IGDB team, you will be responsible for architecting and developing the IGDB.com website and its supporting data products. Your role will involve designing and implementing scalable web services that enhance the discovery experience for hundreds of millions of Twitch viewers and numerous third-party gaming applications. You will collaborate closely with fellow engineering teams to tackle complex projects and contribute valuable engineering insights into product planning processes. Mentoring junior engineers will be a key part of your responsibilities, helping them to develop their skills and advance their careers. You will also be expected to establish best practices in engineering, ensuring that your team adheres to high standards of quality and performance in all deliverables.
