Benchling is hiring a Backend Engineer to enhance performance and observability within their R&D Cloud. You'll work with Java and observability best practices to improve customer experience. This role requires strong software development experience and a focus on performance improvements.
You have a solid background in backend engineering with a focus on performance and observability — your experience includes designing and implementing internal libraries and tooling that adhere to industry best practices. You understand the importance of collaboration with cross-functional teams to address performance issues and improve customer experience.
You possess deep expertise in Java and are familiar with SRE principles — your technical skills enable you to identify performance bottlenecks and propose effective solutions. You thrive in environments where you can take ownership of projects and influence engineering priorities through your unique perspective.
You are a proactive problem solver who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment — your ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders allows you to drive initiatives that enhance system performance. Experience with observability tools and practices is a plus — you understand how to implement monitoring and alerting systems that provide insights into application performance.
