Google is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for Data Center Design and Construction to optimize mechanical systems in mission-critical facilities. You'll leverage your expertise in electrical and control systems, and mechanical systems commissioning. This role requires 5 years of experience in the field.
You have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related technical field, along with 5 years of experience in bidding, designing, operating, and commissioning mechanical systems. Your background includes working with mission-critical facility mechanical infrastructure systems, and you possess knowledge of electrical and control systems as well as mechanical systems commissioning. You are a visionary who optimizes for efficiencies and continuously seeks improvements, understanding that even small changes can have a significant impact. You are skilled at generating ideas, communicating recommendations to senior-level executives, and driving implementation alongside facilities technicians. Your technical expertise ensures compliance with codes and standards, and you are adept at developing infrastructure improvements while serving as an expert in your specialty, such as cooling or electrical systems.
Experience with cutting-edge strategies in data center design and construction is a plus, as is familiarity with Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) documentation. You thrive in collaborative environments and are comfortable working with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues. Your ability to update and maintain internal design specifications, drawings, and standards in accordance with the latest configurations is essential for success in this role.
As a Data Center Mechanical Engineer, you will be involved in program-level engineering projects and the modification of existing infrastructures. You will prepare all types of documents, including engineering reports and design documents, ensuring that all mechanical equipment manufacturing is monitored, delivered, and installed on-site. You will be accountable for identifying and resolving issues raised by cross-functional teams, and you will update and maintain internal design specifications, drawings, and standards in accordance with the latest configurations. Your role will also involve developing next-generation mechanical system products that align with the company's strategies, ensuring that all designs meet the highest standards of efficiency and sustainability.
