Who you are

You have a proven track record in enterprise sales, particularly within the public sector, with at least 5 years of experience leading sales teams. Your expertise in developing sales strategies and mentoring team members has driven significant revenue growth in previous roles. You understand the unique challenges and opportunities within the State, Local, and Education (SLED) sectors, and you are adept at building relationships with key stakeholders in these areas. Your leadership style fosters collaboration and encourages team members to excel in their roles, ensuring that everyone is aligned with the company's goals.

You are data-driven and results-oriented, with a strong ability to analyze sales metrics and adjust strategies accordingly. Your experience in managing sales cycles from prospecting to closing has equipped you with the skills to coach your team effectively. You are passionate about personal development and believe in creating a supportive environment where team members can thrive. You are comfortable working in a hybrid workplace and understand the importance of work-life balance for maintaining high performance.

Desirable

Experience with CRM tools, particularly Salesforce, is a plus. Familiarity with the Datadog product suite and its applications in the public sector will help you convey its value to potential clients. A background in technology sales will enhance your ability to lead discussions with technical stakeholders.

What you'll do

As the Director of Enterprise Sales (SLED) at Datadog, you will manage and mentor a team of Sales Executives dedicated to the public sector. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement effective sales strategies that align with the company's objectives. You will set clear performance metrics and provide ongoing coaching to ensure your team meets their quotas and achieves their targets. You will also be responsible for hiring and training new team members, ensuring they are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed.

You will work closely with your team to build executive relationships with public sector accounts, guiding them through the sales process and helping them understand the unique value that Datadog can provide. Your role will involve regular analysis of sales performance data to identify areas for improvement and to celebrate successes. You will collaborate with other departments, including marketing and product development, to ensure that the sales team has the resources they need to succeed.

In addition to managing your team, you will represent Datadog at industry events and conferences, showcasing our solutions to potential clients and partners. You will be a key player in expanding our presence in the public sector, driving new business opportunities and fostering long-term relationships with clients.
