Amazon is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst for the EC2 Capacity Finance team to support capital expenditure planning and variance analysis. You'll work with SQL and other financial systems to drive financial analysis across the EBS business. This position requires 3+ years of experience in finance or a related analytical field.
You have a Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field, or you possess a Bachelor's degree along with 3+ years of experience in a quantitative role such as engineering or process re-engineering. With 3+ years of experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field, you bring strong financial modeling capabilities and analytical rigor to the table. You thrive in managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and have experience working across a highly matrixed organization. Your expertise includes working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools, such as SQL, MS Access, Essbase, and Cognos, which you leverage to drive financial insights.
Experience in capital expenditure planning and variance analysis is a plus, as is familiarity with financial systems and reporting tools. You are comfortable collaborating with execution teams, product management, and engineering to ensure financial analysis and controllership across the EBS business. Your ability to develop, improve, and automate financial reports will set you apart in this role.
In this role, you will participate in continuous EBS capital analysis and capacity optimization initiatives, building complex financial models and analytical tools to measure overall financial performance. You will own and drive projects during planning and forecasting cycles, providing controllership during the capital purchasing approval process. Your responsibilities will also include delivering ad-hoc business support projects, ensuring that financial insights are actionable and aligned with business objectives.
You will collaborate closely with various teams to drive financial analysis and controllership across the EBS business, ensuring that financial performance is accurately measured and reported. Your analytical skills will be crucial in identifying trends and variances, allowing for informed decision-making and strategic planning. You will also be responsible for developing and automating financial reports, streamlining processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
