You'll apply aerospace engineering principles and optimize manufacturing processes. This role requires a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering and over 10 years of relevant experience.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering and over 10 years of design experience, particularly in aerospace engineering principles related to unmanned aircraft. Your expertise includes aerodynamics, structural design, flight mechanics, and performance optimization, allowing you to lead product design and development effectively. You are well-versed in the product development flow and cycle, and you possess strong capabilities in 2D/3D CAD building, which is essential for creating complex mechanical products. Your knowledge extends to plastic injection molding, metal processing, and various cosmetic treatments for plastic parts, enabling you to define and optimize processes per design requests. You are familiar with SPC and 6-sigma quality systems, which you implement to ensure design-for-quality methodologies in defining and qualifying components, modules, and devices.

Desirable

Experience with video products such as cameras, IP cameras, drone cameras, and optical systems is a plus. Familiarity with tooling structures and manufacturing processes for both plastic and metal parts will enhance your ability to contribute to the team. Your capability to lead product design and development by reviewing risk and feasibility studies is crucial for success in this role.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the design and development of innovative video products and unmanned aircraft systems. You will apply your aerospace engineering knowledge to optimize performance and ensure that products meet high standards of quality and functionality. Your responsibilities will include conducting risk and feasibility studies, reviewing tooling and molding processes, and overseeing assembly operations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and optimize manufacturing processes for both plastic and metal components, ensuring that all designs align with production capabilities.

You will also be responsible for implementing design-for-quality methodologies, utilizing your knowledge of SPC and 6-sigma to enhance product reliability and performance.
