VGW is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to architect and optimize scalable, cloud-native ETL pipelines. You'll work with technologies like AWS, Docker, and PostgreSQL to transform raw data into analytics-ready insights. This role requires significant experience in data engineering and cloud technologies.

Job Description

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong background in building and optimizing ETL pipelines. You understand the importance of transforming raw data into reliable, analytics-ready insights and have experience working with cloud-native technologies. Your expertise in AWS and containerization with Docker allows you to architect scalable solutions that meet business needs. You are familiar with databases such as PostgreSQL and DynamoDB, and you have experience with data warehousing solutions like Snowflake. You are comfortable working in a collaborative environment and are eager to contribute to a team that values learning and development.

Desirable

Experience with Kotlin on the JVM is a plus, as is familiarity with TypeScript and React for client-side applications. You are proactive in staying updated with industry trends and best practices, and you enjoy participating in community events and conferences. You have a growth mindset and are open to mentoring others while also seeking mentorship for your own development.

What you'll do

As a Senior Data Engineer at VGW, you will be responsible for architecting and optimizing scalable ETL pipelines that transform raw data into actionable insights. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and ensure that the data infrastructure supports the analytics needs of the organization. You will implement best practices for data quality and governance, ensuring that the data is reliable and accessible for analysis. You will also be involved in the deployment and management of data solutions in a cloud environment, leveraging AWS services to enhance performance and scalability.

You will take ownership of your projects, from design through to deployment, and will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the health of the data pipelines. You will collaborate with data analysts and other stakeholders to define metrics and KPIs that drive business decisions. Additionally, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of the data engineering processes and practices within the team, sharing your knowledge and insights with colleagues.
