Esri is hiring a Senior Product Engineer to build innovative server-based products for geospatial intelligence. You'll work with Java and WebSocket protocols to enhance the ArcGIS Video Server and Mission Server products. This role requires a strong background in software development and user interaction.
You have 5+ years of experience in product engineering, particularly in server-based applications — your expertise allows you to define, design, and build capabilities that enhance user experiences in geospatial intelligence. You are skilled in Java and have a solid understanding of WebSocket communication protocols, which you leverage to create efficient and effective solutions. Your ability to interact directly with users and industry experts helps you identify user requirements and customer workflows, ensuring that the products you develop meet real-world needs. You are comfortable leading team meetings and sprint planning sessions, guiding your team through the software development lifecycle with clarity and purpose.
You have a strong foundation in software development principles and are adept at prioritizing software release goals and objectives — your experience allows you to clearly define new features and enhancements that align with user needs. You thrive in collaborative environments, where you can lead retrospectives and planning events, fostering a culture of continuous improvement within your team. Your technical skills are complemented by your ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring that everyone is aligned on project goals and timelines.
Experience with geospatial technologies or video analysis is a plus, as it will enhance your ability to contribute to the ArcGIS Video Server and Mission Server products.
