Overview

SpaceX is hiring a Mechanical Engineer for the Direct To Cell team to design innovative satellite systems for global cellular connectivity. Job Description

Who you are

You have a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and possess 3+ years of experience in mechanical design and analysis. Your expertise includes proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks, enabling you to create detailed mechanical assemblies and prototypes. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with electrical and thermal engineers to develop innovative solutions that meet stringent design requirements. You are comfortable with the full hardware lifecycle, from initial concept through to production and testing, and you have a strong understanding of materials and manufacturing processes. You are detail-oriented and possess excellent problem-solving skills, allowing you to navigate complex engineering challenges effectively. You are passionate about space technology and eager to contribute to groundbreaking projects that push the boundaries of what is possible.

Desirable

Experience with satellite systems or telecommunications is a plus, as is familiarity with antenna design and integration. Knowledge of thermal analysis and testing methodologies will further enhance your candidacy. You are adaptable and open to learning new technologies and processes, demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement in your engineering practice.

What you'll do

As a Mechanical Engineer on the Direct To Cell team, you will design, prototype, and test mechanical assemblies for a revolutionary satellite system aimed at providing global cellular connectivity. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative electromechanical interfaces that integrate seamlessly with the satellite's phased array antenna.
