You have extensive experience in spacecraft design, particularly in thermal analysis, and possess strong analytical capabilities that enable you to deliver high-quality work efficiently. Your background includes a deep understanding of thermal control hardware options and their application in optimizing spacecraft performance, mass, and cost. You are a US Citizen and can obtain a US Government security clearance of TS/SCI, which is essential for this role. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with vehicle architects and subsystem leads to ensure that thermal requirements are met effectively.
Experience with satellite systems and a solid grasp of orbital operational conditions will set you apart. Familiarity with design optimizations that enhance system reliability and performance is highly valued. You are comfortable with detailed analysis and architectural trades, and you have a proven track record of driving design improvements in complex engineering projects.
In this role, you will conduct detailed thermal analysis of bus and payload subsystems, ensuring that all thermal requirements are met for operational conditions. You will support architectural trades by providing preliminary thermal analysis and recommendations that influence design decisions. Your responsibilities will include driving design optimizations for performance, mass, and cost, ensuring that all system reliability requirements are satisfied. You will design, analyze, and select heat pipes for bus and payload components, contributing to the overall success of the Amazon Leo initiative. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be key as you provide essential thermal-related input to vehicle architects and subsystem leads.
