Overview

Axon is seeking an Engineering Manager for their Connected Devices Cloud team to lead the development of scalable cloud services for public safety. You'll drive architecture and operations while fostering a strong engineering culture. This role requires leadership experience and a commitment to operational excellence.

Who you are

You have a strong background in engineering management, with experience leading high-impact teams in cloud services or related fields. Your leadership style emphasizes collaboration and operational excellence, and you are passionate about building a culture of growth and innovation within your team. You understand the importance of connecting devices and cloud software to enhance public safety workflows, and you are committed to delivering high-quality solutions that meet the needs of your customers.

You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to partner effectively with product management, QA, security, and other teams. You are adept at navigating complex technical challenges and can inspire your team to achieve ambitious goals. Your experience includes shaping engineering practices and fostering a mindset of continuous improvement among your team members.

Desirable

Experience in public safety technology or similar industries is a plus. Familiarity with cloud architecture and operations will help you excel in this role. You are open to learning new technologies and methodologies that can enhance your team's performance and the quality of the services you deliver.

What you'll do

As the Engineering Manager for Connected Devices Cloud at Axon, you will lead a team responsible for building and operating cloud services that connect various Axon devices. Your primary focus will be on ensuring that these services are scalable, secure, and highly available, enabling mission-critical workflows for public safety. You will drive the architecture and operations of the Connected Devices Cloud, raising the bar on reliability, latency, and cost efficiency across services and APIs.

You will shape the engineering culture in the Vietnam hub by championing operational excellence and strong engineering practices. This includes conducting regular team meetings, performance reviews, and fostering an environment where team members feel empowered to share ideas and take ownership of their work. You will also collaborate closely with product management to ensure that the solutions your team develops align with customer needs and expectations.

Your role will involve mentoring and developing your team members, helping them grow in their careers while achieving team objectives. You will be responsible for hiring new talent and ensuring that your team has the resources and support needed to succeed. Additionally, you will work with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end solutions that feel seamless to customers, ensuring that all aspects of the service are integrated and functioning effectively.
