The EU 3P Business Intelligence team is at the forefront of leveraging advanced analytics and artificial intelligence to drive the growth of Amazon's Marketplace in Europe. We work with petabytes of data in one of the world's largest data lakes, employing the most advanced tools and techniques to reveal insights that shape the future of e-commerce.

We're seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our team and lead the development of AI and ML solutions that enhance our Seller Services. You'll be part of expanding our GenAI capabilities and scaling their impact across European markets, working with vast amounts of data to drive innovative solutions for our sellers and customers.

A successful Data Scientist at Amazon demonstrates bias for action and operates in a startup environment, with leadership skills, and proven ability to build and manage medium-scale modeling projects, identify data requirements, build methodology and tools that are statistically grounded. We need great leaders to think big and design new solutions to solve complex problems using machine learning and Generative AI techniques to improve our marketplace experience.

Key job responsibilities
As a Senior Data Scientist, you will partner with product management and technical leadership to identify opportunities to innovate the marketplace experience. You will identify new areas of innovation, develop unique scientific solutions, and play a crucial role in shaping innovation for our Sellers.

Responsibilities include:
[*]Transform complex business problems into analytical solutions by understanding available data and identifying appropriate statistical or ML techniques.
[*]Design and develop large-scale AI/ML projects and experiments from inception to deployment, driving solutions to complex or ambiguous business challenges.
[*]Leverage broad expertise to recommend optimal strategies and methodologies, solving challenges through statistical modeling, machine learning, optimization, and/or other approaches for quantifiable business impact.
[*]Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for AI applications.
[*]Define and conduct experiments to optimize marketplace efficiency and effectiveness.
[*]Communicate insights and recommendations to product, business, and technology partners across both EU and WW organizations.
[*]Mentor team members and contribute to building a strong data science and AI culture within the organization.[*]Master's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, data science, business analytics, economics, finance, engineering, or computer science.
[*]5+ years of data science and machine learning experience.
[*]5+ years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience.
[*]Exposure to building applications leveraging GenAI.[*]Experience managing complex data pipelines.
[*]Experience in AWS services.
[*]Experience in Natural Language Processing techniques.
[*]Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
