SonicWall is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead the evolution and performance of their Kubernetes-based production environment. You'll work hands-on with Kubernetes, GCP, and Terraform to drive reliability and scalability. This role requires extensive experience in platform engineering.
You have over 10 years of experience in software development and platform engineering, with a strong focus on building and maintaining scalable systems. Your expertise in Kubernetes is complemented by a deep understanding of cloud environments, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You are proficient in infrastructure automation tools like Terraform, and you have a proven track record of enhancing system performance and reliability.
You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with engineering and support teams to optimize system performance. Your ability to influence architectural decisions and implement best practices in observability and reliability makes you a key player in any project. You are passionate about driving business growth through technology and are committed to delivering high-quality solutions.
Experience with other cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure would be a plus. Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools is also desirable, as is a background in cybersecurity or working with security-focused applications. You are a proactive problem solver who enjoys tackling complex challenges and finding innovative solutions.
In this role, you will maintain, scale, and enhance SonicWall's Kubernetes production platform, ensuring its performance, reliability, and availability. You will implement comprehensive observability across services and infrastructure, allowing for proactive monitoring and incident response. Your hands-on experience with Kubernetes will be crucial as you lead efforts to improve system resilience and scalability.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to influence architectural decisions and drive the evolution of the platform. Your insights will help shape the direction of technology initiatives, ensuring that SonicWall remains at the forefront of cybersecurity solutions. You will also mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and expertise to foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the team.
