Amazon is hiring a Data Center IT Support Engineer to work in their Data Centre Operations in Melbourne. You'll be responsible for troubleshooting server and networking issues while working with AWS infrastructure. This role requires experience with Linux and a passion for technology.
You have a strong background in IT support, particularly in data center environments, and are excited about server and networking technology. Your experience includes troubleshooting complex issues and working with various teams to ensure smooth operations. You thrive in dynamic environments where each day presents new challenges, and you are eager to contribute to the largest data centers in the world.
You possess deep knowledge of Linux systems and are comfortable diving into server issues to resolve them efficiently. Your technical troubleshooting skills allow you to act as an escalation point for all systems and problems, ensuring that any outages are addressed promptly. You understand the importance of maintaining high availability and reliability in data center operations.
You are adaptable and willing to work shifts, including nights, as part of a rotational schedule. Your commitment to teamwork and collaboration enables you to work effectively with logistics and other teams to maintain daily operations. Experience with AWS cloud services is a plus, as you will be working on infrastructure that supports AWS. Familiarity with data center power and cooling systems will also be beneficial in this role. In this role, you will be responsible for installing and configuring racks of hosts in line with internal SLAs. You will triage and resolve trouble tickets for all devices in your region, ensuring that any technical issues are addressed quickly and effectively. Your role will involve physical replacement of server and network components as needed, contributing to the overall functionality of the data center.
You will participate in data center power and cooling events, working closely with other teams to remediate any physical power issues on racks. Your ability to deep dive into Linux server issues will be crucial as you troubleshoot and resolve problems that arise in the data center environment. You will also be involved in maintaining the infrastructure that supports the AWS cloud, ensuring that it operates smoothly and efficiently.
