Overview

Plain is seeking a Senior People Operations Manager to build and scale the company's People foundations. You'll oversee end-to-end People operations while collaborating closely with various teams. This role requires a strong understanding of People systems and operations.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in People operations, ideally with experience in a high-growth startup environment. You understand the intricacies of the employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding, and are passionate about creating effective People systems that support organizational growth. You thrive in collaborative settings and enjoy working closely with various stakeholders, including founders and functional leads, to ensure that People operations align with the company's goals. You are detail-oriented and enjoy being hands-on in your approach, ensuring that processes are efficient and effective. You have excellent communication skills, allowing you to engage with team members across different functions and geographies. You are adaptable and can navigate the challenges that come with scaling a company, always looking for ways to improve and innovate within the People function.

Desirable

Experience with HR technology and tools is a plus, as is familiarity with performance management systems. A background in talent acquisition or recruitment can also be beneficial, as you will work closely with the Talent team to support recruiting efforts. You are comfortable with data analysis and can leverage metrics to inform decision-making in People operations. A proactive mindset and a willingness to take initiative will help you succeed in this role.

What you'll do

In this role, you will run end-to-end People operations across the employee lifecycle, ensuring that all processes are streamlined and effective. You will manage onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring that new hires have a smooth transition into the company and that departing employees are treated with respect and care. You will handle contracts, payroll changes, benefits administration, and visa processes, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. You will partner closely with the Head of Operations and other functional leads to align People operations with the company's strategic objectives. You will also play a key role in shaping the company culture, working to create an environment where employees feel valued and engaged. You will have the opportunity to implement new tools and systems that enhance the employee experience and improve operational efficiency. Your work will directly impact the company's ability to attract and retain top talent, making this a critical role in the organization.
