Amazon is hiring an Engineering Operations Technician to maintain mission-critical technology infrastructure. You'll work with electrical and mechanical systems to ensure 99.999% uptime. This role requires hands-on troubleshooting skills and knowledge of data center operations.
As an Engineering Operations Technician, you are a critical guardian of technological infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations that power global digital experiences. You have hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting, and you thrive in environments where you can maintain and operate mission-critical facilities. Your expertise contributes directly to maintaining an extraordinary 99.999% uptime, keeping the digital world running smoothly and efficiently.
You are familiar with stand-by diesel generators and related fuel systems, as well as three-phase electrical systems such as switch gear, UPSs, PDUs, wet cell batteries, and associated systems. You understand the importance of cooling systems, including CRAC units, centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, and air handlers. Your background in electrical and mechanical engineering equips you with the skills necessary to tackle the challenges presented in a data center environment.
You are a proactive problem solver who enjoys working as part of a diverse team of engineers and specialists. You are committed to maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence and are eager to contribute to the success of AWS Infrastructure Services, which owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure.
Experience with data center operations and a strong understanding of the technologies that support cloud infrastructure will set you apart. Familiarity with AWS services and a passion for technology will enhance your ability to succeed in this role.
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, operating, and troubleshooting Data Center Operations' Mission Critical Facilities. You will work hands-on with various electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and effectively. Your day-to-day tasks will include performing routine maintenance, responding to equipment alarms, and conducting troubleshooting to resolve issues promptly.
You will collaborate closely with a team of software, hardware, and network engineers, as well as supply chain specialists, to support all AWS data centers. Your contributions will help ensure that our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You will be involved in monitoring systems, documenting procedures, and implementing best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
You will also participate in projects aimed at improving the reliability and performance of our data center infrastructure. This may involve working on upgrades, installations, and system enhancements. Your role is vital in maintaining the integrity of our operations and ensuring that we meet the high standards expected by our customers.
