Software Development Engineer II in Test (SDET)

Who you are

You have a minimum of 5 years of proven experience as an Automation QA Engineer, demonstrating a strong proficiency in Java and Kotlin. Your background includes designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks and test cases, ensuring the highest quality of software products through best practices in test automation. You are detail-oriented and have a passion for quality assurance, always striving to improve processes and outcomes.

You possess a solid understanding of software development life cycles and methodologies, which allows you to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. Your experience includes working in Agile environments, where you have contributed to sprint planning and retrospectives. You are comfortable with various testing tools and frameworks, particularly Selenium, and have a knack for identifying areas for automation to enhance efficiency.

You are a proactive communicator, able to articulate testing strategies and results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Your analytical skills enable you to troubleshoot issues effectively, and you are always looking for ways to optimize testing processes. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are eager to share your knowledge with team members, helping to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Desirable

Experience with additional programming languages or testing frameworks is a plus, as is familiarity with CI/CD pipelines. You may also have experience in performance testing or security testing, which would further enhance your contributions to the team.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing automated test cases that ensure the functionality and performance of Kaseya's software products. You will work closely with developers and product managers to understand requirements and translate them into effective test strategies. Your primary focus will be on maintaining and enhancing the automated test framework, ensuring it is robust and scalable to meet the needs of the development team.

You will participate in code reviews and provide feedback on testability and quality aspects of the codebase. Your role will also involve analyzing test results, identifying defects, and working with the development team to resolve issues promptly. You will contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies, advocating for best practices in test automation.

Additionally, you will mentor junior QA engineers, sharing your expertise and helping them grow in their roles. You will be an integral part of the QA team, collaborating on testing strategies and ensuring that quality is a top priority throughout the software development lifecycle.
