AI Studios is a newly established org that leads the global strategy and execution for integrating AI across the creative and production lifecycle at Amazon MGM Studios. Our goal is to advance how stories are developed, produced, and experienced by using new technology as a tool, with human creativity and control at the center, empowering creators.
We're seeking a rare hybrid leader-practitioner who can architect the future of AI-enabled animation and roll up their sleeves to make it happen. This is not a traditional creative executive role – you will be the visionary and the executor of the creative bar and strategy for Amazon AI Studios, defining new AI-driven animation workflows and actively implementing them. You'll need to toggle seamlessly between high-level strategic thinking and driving creative development and production, while maintaining a continual focus on adapting new technology to how animation is made. The ideal candidate is a seasoned animation professional who's equally comfortable crafting high quality creative projects and assembling teams to bring them to life.
Key job responsibilities
• Identify and evaluate high-priority creative projects and assemble teams to produce them utilizing innovative AI-enabled animation workflows
• Define AI Studios’ creative vision and strategy while handling day-to-day studio production tasks
• Build and test new production approaches through hands-on experimentation
• Drive both strategic planning and tactical execution of projects
• Serve as both creative leader and individual contributor for the AI Studios team
- 9+ years of creative executive experience
- Experience working with other departments such as casting, production, research, PR, business and legal affairs
- Experience overseeing all creative aspects of development production and post production
- 8+ years media production experience (in television animation, film animation, digital, multi-platform or related fields)
- Track record overseeing the full production cycle for animated TV projects or feature films
- Demonstrated track record of delivering projects while also supervising creative teams
- Experience working across the full animation production cycle (from greenlight through post-production)
- Experience working in animation development, either on the project or executive side- Experience working at a premium television network or a world-class production company
- Experience managing film and television development and production and ability to shepherd a project from idea to launch

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $165,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $273,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
