SpaceX is seeking an Integration Technician (Level 4/5) to integrate secondary structures, avionics, and propulsion components for the Starship. This role requires 5+ years of experience in mechanical, electrical, or avionics hardware installation.
You have 5+ years of experience in the aerospace industry, particularly with propulsion, mechanical, automotive, electrical, or avionics hardware installation. Your background includes hands-on operations with both large and small fragile assemblies, and you are skilled in using precision calibrated tools. You possess a high school diploma or equivalency certificate, and ideally, you hold an FAA Airframe and PowerPlant license. Your experience has equipped you with the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions, ensuring that you can perform tasks according to procedures, specifications, and test instructions.
You are comfortable collaborating with production engineers to develop and document integration processes. Your strong mechanical and avionics integration skills allow you to perform fluids and pneumatic testing effectively. You understand the importance of safety and professionalism in all production services, ensuring that work is completed on time and to the highest standards. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are eager to contribute to the exciting mission of enabling human life on Mars.
While not required, experience in the aerospace industry is preferred. Your familiarity with heavy rigging for large assemblies and operating personnel platforms such as boom lifts and scissor lifts will be advantageous in this role.
As an Integration Technician at SpaceX, you will be responsible for the integration of all secondary structures, avionics, and stage propulsion components and systems to the vehicle’s primary structure. You will stage, set up, assemble, test, and install flight hardware, ensuring that all components are integrated seamlessly. Your role will involve using precision calibrated tools and performing hands-on operations with both large and small fragile assemblies. You will also be responsible for heavy rigging for large assemblies, which requires a keen understanding of safety protocols and operational procedures.
In this position, you will collaborate closely with production engineers to develop and document integration processes. You will ensure that all production services are performed on time, safely, and in a professional manner. Your responsibilities will include reading and interpreting engineering drawings and work instructions, as well as performing fluids and pneumatic testing to validate the integrity of the systems you integrate. You will be expected to use various mechanical tools without prior instruction, showcasing your expertise and confidence in the field.
