Who you are

You have a strong background in program management, particularly in compliance-related fields, with at least 5 years of experience navigating complex regulatory environments. Your expertise includes managing compliance programs across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring that all regulatory deadlines are met without fail. You are adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Legal, Product, Engineering, and Policy, to design and implement effective compliance workflows. You understand the intricacies of regulations such as the EU Digital Services Act and the UK Online Safety Act, and you are skilled at conducting strategic horizon scanning to prepare for emerging regulations.

You possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to articulate compliance requirements clearly to various stakeholders. Your analytical mindset enables you to assess compliance risks and develop strategies to mitigate them effectively. You thrive in environments that require attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. You are proactive in identifying potential compliance challenges and are committed to fostering a culture of compliance within the organization.

Desirable

Experience in the gaming industry or with platforms that cater to a large user base is a plus. What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the Regulatory Compliance team at Discord, acting as the regulatory intelligence hub for the organization. You will be responsible for building and managing comprehensive compliance programs that address Discord's most critical regulatory challenges. This includes overseeing compliance auditing, transparency reporting, and crisis response coordination. You will work closely with various teams to design risk-based compliance workflows that enable Discord to operate confidently in an increasingly complex global regulatory landscape.

Your responsibilities will also include conducting regular assessments of compliance programs to ensure they are effective and up-to-date with current regulations. You will collaborate with Legal and Policy teams to interpret new regulations and implement necessary changes to compliance processes. Additionally, you will be involved in training and educating team members on compliance requirements and best practices.

You will play a key role in strategic planning, identifying emerging regulations that may impact Discord's operations and preparing the organization to address these challenges proactively. Your ability to analyze data and trends will be crucial in informing compliance strategies and ensuring that Discord remains a leader in regulatory compliance within the gaming industry.
