Amazon is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to develop innovative science solutions for Amazon Private Brands. You'll work with Python, SQL, and machine learning to create prototypes that solve complex business problems. This role requires expertise in data analysis and a strong background in data management.

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist, with a strong background in developing and deploying machine learning models that drive business impact. Your expertise in Python and SQL allows you to manipulate and analyze large datasets effectively, and you are comfortable working with various data management tools. You have a proven track record of inventing novel solutions and prototypes that address complex business challenges, and you thrive in collaborative environments where you can guide and mentor other scientists.

You possess a deep understanding of machine learning algorithms and data analysis techniques, enabling you to frame ambiguous business problems as scientific challenges. Your experience with entity resolution and large language models is a significant asset, as is your ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders. You are passionate about innovation and are eager to contribute to the development of ambitious science solutions that delight customers.

Desirable

Experience with agentic AI and product substitutes is a plus, as is familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as AWS. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and are excited about the opportunity to lead prototype development initiatives that can be scaled across teams.

What you'll do

In this role, you will partner with business stakeholders to deeply understand the challenges faced by Amazon Private Brands and translate these into actionable science problems. You will be responsible for inventing and developing novel science solutions, creating prototypes, and deploying production software that addresses these business needs. Your work will directly impact customer satisfaction and the overall success of Amazon's private brands.

You will review and guide the designs and implementations of science solutions across the team, ensuring that best practices are followed and that the quality of work meets Amazon's high standards. Your leadership will help raise the bar for science research and prototype development within the organization.
